W|T on Martha!

Last Monday, Martha Stewart debuted the newest collection from MARTHA STEWART EMBROIDERY™-- Classic Script Monograms & Designs-- on The Martha Stewart Show. Martha and her in-house crafter Hosanna Houser whipped up a lovely lace-inset monogrammed table runner on her PFAFF® 2.0 creative™sewing and embroidery machine.

So, what does that have to do with White | Thompson?

Well, our very own Nikki designed the packaging for Classic Script Monograms & Designs, and we help with the marketing of that incredible PFAFF® 2.0 creative™machine on behalf of our client, SVP (SINGER®, HUSQVARNA-VIKING® & PFAFF®).

Working with SVP, we get a lot of opportunities to work on projects with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO). They're fun jobs, and we learn a lot about sewing and crafting every time. And spending all this time with the Martha Stewart brand, we're becoming master organizers, table-setters, shirt-ironers, and flower gardeners. We've fallen in love with grosgrain ribbon and milk glass.

Time to celebrate! Yesterday, we launched Clear the Air Tennessee, a new educational program from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).

Clear the Air is an exciting effort for us-- we love projects that give us a chance to really make a difference in our community. And boy howdy, this is one of them. We've been charged with helping TDOT convince drivers statewide to make some small adjustments to their driving habits that will result in cleaner air for all of us. We're calling these changes the SIMPLE steps to cleaner air:

Slow Down
Idle Less
Maintain your vehicle
Plan your trips
Leave your car at home
Educate others.

RUN LIKE THE WIND!

W | T is so very proud of our two fabulous runners, Sherri and Bennjin. Saturday, in the heat and the excitement, they ran a whopping 13.1 miles to complete the 10th Annual Country Music Half-Marathon.
(The rest of us are still baffled that 13.1 miles of running can be described as half of anything!)

Not only are they our star athletes, they're our community heroes as well. The marathon itself raises money for Leukemia & Lymphoma research, PLUS they ran with Team Rio to raise funds and awareness for one of our favorite clients, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.

When we started planning the materials and creative for Team Rio last year, Sherri and Bennjin committed to thinking about running the marathon in 09. When winter came, they committed to joining the team, raising money for a good cause, and running up and down the hills of Nashville for 16 weeks in preparation for Saturday's race.

We've heard great stories from along the route-- seeing the faces of friends and family, complete strangers cheering them on, hula-hoopers and jugglers in the mix of runners. Two hours and 31 minutes after the starting pistol, our dynamic duo floated over the finish line. We're so proud! Congrats, guys!

Happy Easter, Happy Spring, Happy Sugar Buzz

Walking in the office door this morning, we were greeted by a few Easter eggs scattered here and there.

And then we looked around and saw more Easter Eggs.

And then quickly realized the whole building was crawling with them: on the stairs, in every corner, in the mail boxes, on the desks, under the chairs, even tucked into nooks and crannies in the copier.

No hunting necessary-- you can't take five steps around here today without bumping into an egg. And they're filled with little toys and doo-dads and confetti poppers to keep us smiling and occupied throughout the day.

That, and delicious, delicious candy.

It seems Evette and the Easter Bunny are actually one and the same. Think about it... have you ever seen them together? Well, have you?

W | T will be closed tomorrow, Good Friday, for a short break and Easter celebration. We'll be back Monday morning full of chocolate and Peeps. Happy Easter!
